Bachelor of Science in English

BS English is a specialized four year programme, tailored to implement HEC’s proposed paradigm of learning, building a broad base by introducing students to a number of diverse fields such as Logic, Philosophy, Human Rights, Psychology and Business Administration, before immersing them in the specialized domain of English Literature, Linguistics and Language Teaching. This results in a rich and varied learning experience that sets up the learners for diverse career and learning opportunities.   The program’s salient features include:

  • Designed by experts in the field adhering to HEC guidelines.
  • Offers introductory courses on Psychology, Logic, International Relations, Human Rights, Business Administration, for a holistic learning experience and to develop professional skills.
  • Represents an ideal blend of English literature, linguistics, applied linguistics, and social sciences
  • Includes emerging courses in major domains such as  Contemporary Short Fiction, Critical Discourse Analysis, Computer Aided Language Learning and World Literature in English.
  • Inculcates and strengthens modern research skills.
  • Establishes a sound basis for higher studies.

Aims and Objectives

The key aims and objectives of the BS programme are to:
