Engineering & IT extends the body of knowledge to the stability, speed, usability, testability, reliability, size, cost, security and troubleshooting of Systems and never lessen the attention from elegance, conciseness, and customer satisfaction, among many other attributes.
Faculty of EE&IT at FUI comprises of Software Engineering and Electrical Engineering departments. Software Engineering department at FUI is amongst the pioneers in the country to start a formal software engineering program. We started offering BCSE (Bachelors of Computer Software Engineering) and BSCS (Bachelors of Science in Computer Science) in 1998 but did not dither to broaden the compass for postgraduate programs MS (Computer Science) and Ph.D. (Computer Science). The design of the degree programs takes into account the highest national standards set by ACM and IEEE Computer societies. We aim to produce graduates with state of the art skills in the domain who could conveniently align themselves with industry, government or entrepreneurial endeavors to demonstrate professional advancement hence becoming an asset for the nation. In all these academic engagements we do have an objective to make certain pursuance on high ethics. Department of Electrical Engineering with its state of the art labs, most current curricula, and highly qualified faculty made reputable accomplishments in such a short period of time. The department primarily focuses upon imparting sound engineering knowledge, training with scientific skills at highest ethical standards and convene effective communication skills to the youth. With over 60 full-time faculty members the faculty visions to be known as a center of excellence in the field.
Our alumni and current students are making a novel and innovative contributions in academia and professional industry across the globe. In order to be in pace with the current trends in the market and upcoming technologies, we keep a close eye on our curriculum updating as with Higher Education Commission (HEC) as well as on the mechanism of instruction. With over 40 full-time faculty members we provide a better academic and mentoring environment. The research infrastructure in the department is expanding to bring in Power systems, Digital signal processing, artificial intelligence, embedded systems, software engineering and network security as major concerns of industry-academia linkage.
All the programs in the faculty are duly accredited by Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC)/ National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC). I strongly encourage the faculty and students to pursue academic, creative, curricular and co-curricular activities to enhance their knowledge, skills and personality traits.
The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology endeavors to produce competent engineers who can play a productive role in the industry, academia, and research. The faculty uses modern technologies to enhance the learning capabilities of the students and to provide them with a stimulating and challenging environment. Emphasis is put on the practical applications of engineering and computer science to meet the software and hardware needs of the global industry in general and the Pakistani industry in particular. The Faculty offers courses in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering and Computer Science leading to Bachelor’s (BS), Master’s (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).
The mission of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology is to develop human resources for occupying leadership positions in engineering as executives and designers. The faculty aims to achieve this objective by selecting the best students with a burning desire in life. The curricula are according to the needs of the society and industry, inculcating the values necessary to meet the challenges of globalization and by developing an orientation to find indigenous and low-cost solutions for the problems being faced by emerging countries, like Pakistan. The faculty ensures that the degree programs are being used to help engineers learn not only cutting edge technologies but management skills, from leadership to team working and adoption of the highest professional ethical standards.
